What is Kiwitax?

We're a Small Business and Rental Property Accounting and Tax service. As an Authorised Tax Agency and Member of the Tax Agents' Institute of New Zealand we can look after all your accounting and tax in a professional manner and ensure full compliance with Inland Revenue. You'll find Kiwitax accounting and tax return services are easy to use, fairly priced, efficient and timely.

What size businesses do you work for?

We specialise in working for businesses which have annual turnover from a very low income up to around $500,000 per annum although we have many clients who turnover closer to the $1,000,000 mark. Our services are designed and priced to suit smaller sized businesses. If your business turnover goes beyond this we recommend you seek the services of a chartered accountant.

How can you help with Inland Revenue?

We liaise with Inland Revenue to ensure you maintain a good relationship plus provide help and assistance with anything that may pop up. As Tax Agents we have a direct line to Inland Revenue and access to Online Services to quickly access information to sort out problems and hurry things along when required.

How do you ensure accuracy?

We have created and continue to improve very thorough step by step systems. This ensures a consistently high quality output for all work. It's normal for annual accounting jobs to go through a process of over 60 detailed steps before being reviewed by a senior team member. Every single job we do passes through this internal system and nothing goes out the door unless it is absolutely spot on.

Yes it seems a little crazy when most accounting firms only offer a free initial consultation and yes we do miss out a bit for doing this. The fact is there is no catch. We believe clients shouldn't be charged for every little thing. Anytime you have a question or want to chat about anything please contact us. Quite simply we'd rather you talked to us and therefore avoid a costly problem later on. It's the least we can do to help - it's part of the service.

Where is Kiwitax?

Kiwi Tax Limited is based at 122 Taradale Road, Napier, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. If you're calling in look for the teal and white building between Animalz Vets and HTL Hardware - not far past the main NZ Post mail centre heading towards Napier centre on Taradale Road.

Can I use Kiwitax from anywhere in NZ?

Sure can. Wherever you are in New Zealand, we can work for you. People from all over New Zealand are using Kiwitax. We keep in touch by email and phone or you're always welcome to write and fax us. Our clients outside of Napier find communicating with us is easy and any distance between us is not an issue. Of course if you're in Napier just drop in to our office anytime and say hi.

Can I use Kiwitax from outside NZ?

Usually yes - as long as you have a business or rental property within New Zealand. We only prepare tax returns for New Zealand Inland Revenue and not any overseas tax departments. Due to the extra costs involved we do have to pass on shipping costs to overseas clients for delivery of packages.

Is there a Kiwitax branch in my town/city?

We currently have just the one office in Napier but can still work for you from anywhere else. If things continue to go well it's possible we may open branches in other places.

Who are the people at Kiwitax?

Kiwitax owners and directors are Kylie Berry and Brena Smith with team members Emma Lowe, Melissa Murdoch, Margarita Nersesyan, Nathan Grant, Rowena Brown and Jamie Lay.

As a small team of 8 people we ensure you receive attentive, personal service. We appreciate you choosing us to work for you and are here to help.

How long has Kiwitax been in business?

We originally started in business on 23 November 1999 by providing contract accounting services to Hawkes Bay accountants. Although this kept us busy we prefered to work for clients directly so we began growing our own client base. It was this change that brought about Easy Tax - Stressfree Tax Returns. Things worked out well and we became an established, healthy business.

After several years as Easy Tax we felt a fresh update was required. We wanted to be more identifiable as a New Zealand owned business working for Kiwis so in March 2009 we changed our name to Kiwitax. This has been positive with many more clients joining us - even through the 2008/2009 recession.
