Kiwitax Business Accounting + Xero is an affordable, stress-free accounting and tax service which works with your Xero data to prepare your tax returns. As each client requires different levels of Xero assistance this service is available as either an annual only service with on request transaction checking right through to an all year-round accounting and tax solution. Depending on your requirements here's some options which may suit...
- Annual + Advisor - An annual accounting and income tax service which uses your data from Xero and any other sources as applicable to prepare annual financial accounts and income tax returns from your coded transactions. Kiwitax team are available anytime to login to your Xero account and provide help as required - this time is invoiced separately. Any additional accounting and tax services can be requested anytime when required.
- Annual + Advisor + GST - An annual accounting and income tax service as above plus Kiwitax team login to your Xero account and also look after your GST returns, you still code your transactions but we check over your coding, make any corrections and adjustments, then prepare and submit your GST returns to IRD.
- Annual + Advisor + GST + Coding - A full, all year-round tax compliance service which uses Xero and looks after everything from your 1, 2 or 6 monthly GST returns to annual accounting and income tax. Kiwitax team take care of your transaction coding, prepare your GST returns and use the Xero data for your annual accounting and income tax returns. This is a great option for people who want to use many of Xero's additional functions like invoicing, reporting and partner services like payroll but would rather leave the accounting to the experts.

There's no hidden costs for disbursements like phone calls, printing, faxing etc. and the quoted price is the complete price.
The Xero monthly subscription is not included in the Kiwitax service pricing however as a Xero partner we can pass on a 25% saving from the normal Xero retail price.

Business Annual Accounting
All your annual financial transactions are collected and collated and entered into a general ledger. From there everything is sorted into accounts and checked over. Assets and liabilities are reconciled, tax reducing expenses are claimed resulting in the final net profit or loss for the financial year.
Business Income Tax Returns
If applicable a business income tax return is prepared from the annual financial reports. By this stage all claims have been made to reduce the business income tax and this is prepared in conjunction with any personal income tax returns as required. Once prepared and signed off this is submitted to Inland Revenue for you.
Personal Income Tax Returns
Based on the business annual financial reports and any external income received, personal income tax returns are carefully prepared in conjunction with any business income tax returns ensuring the best possible tax outcome for all concerned. Once prepared and signed off these are submitted to Inland Revenue for you.
Xero Advisor (Optional)
Kiwitax team can log into your Xero account on request to check over your transaction coding and generally make sure all is in order. If there's any problems we can sort them out for you.
Xero Coding (Optional)
If desired the Kiwitax team can login to your Xero account on a regular basis and code your bank transactions. This may be a good option if you're not comfortable with the accounting aspects but like using Xero's additional features to help your business.
GST Returns Prepared (Optional)
Staying on top on your regular tax compliance work can be time consuming and complicated. Kiwitax 1, 2, and 6 monthly GST return services offer an effective GST return service to ensure your returns are prepared correctly and filed on time every time. A easy way to keep up to date with your regular tax compliance leaving you free to focus on your business.
FBT Returns Prepared (Optional)
If your business has employees and they receive related "perks" such as company vehicles, medical insurance, low interest loans and so on then it's likely Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT) returns will need to be prepared. Kiwitax can look after the preparation and filing of your FBT returns with Inland Revenue and are usually filed 3 or 12 monthly.
Company Annual Returns Prepared (Optional)
For New Zealand incorporated companies an annual company return must be filed with the NZ Companies Office. If this is not done each year by the due date the Companies Office begin proceedings to remove the company from the companies register. Kiwitax can take care of your company annual return ensuring it is prepared properly and submitted on time.
All Year IRD Help & Support
Contacting IRD isn't exactly a favorite with most people - being put on hold and getting the right people on the line can be frustrating. As a Kiwitax client we do it for you! As Tax Agents we have a close working relationship and direct line to Inland Revenue. It's all a complimentary part of the service.
